La Bombardier Aerospace ha festeggiato il 300° turboelica regionale Q400, un esemplare della versione “NextGen”. L’aereo del traguardo è il ventesimo Q400 ad entrare in servizio con la Porter Airlines di Toronto.
La Porter ha iniziato la propria attività nell’ottobre 2006, con voli per Ottawa dal Toronto City Airport, ribattezzato di recente “Billy Bishop”. Oggi opera 13 collegamenti verso destinazioni canadesi e statunitensi.
La Bombardier ha lanciato il programma Q400 nel giugno 1995 ed ha consegnato il primo esemplare nel gennaio 2000. I Q400 ed i Q400 NextGen sono attualmente in servizio con circa trenta compagnie aeree ed altri operatori in Europa, nelle Americhe, nella regione Asia-Pacifico, in Africa e nel Medio Oriente. L’insieme dei biturbina di questo tipo ha raggiunto 2,5 milioni di ore di volo e 2,8 milioni di cicli decollo/atterraggio.
Al 31 gennaio 2010, il costruttore nordamericano ha totalizzato ordini per 363 Q400 e Q400 NextGen, con 288 esemplari già consegnati. Per quanto riguarda le versioni precedenti, meno capienti, la Bombardier ha consegnato, ad operatori di tutto il mondo, 299 Dash 8-100/Q100, 105 Q200 e 267 Q300.

Bombardier Aerospace today celebrated its 300th Q400 turboprop aircraft, a “NextGen” model. The milestone aircraft is the 20th Q400 turboprop to join Toronto-based Porter Airlines’ fleet.
Porter, which began operations from the renamed “Billy Bishop” Toronto City Airport in October, 2006 with flights to Ottawa, now serves 13 points in Canada and the United States.
Bombardier launched the Q400 aircraft in June 1995, and the first aircraft was delivered in January 2000. Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft are now in service with some 30 airlines and other operators in Europe, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific Region, Africa and the Middle East. The worldwide fleet has logged more than 2.5 million hours and over 2.8 million take-off and landing cycles.
Bombardier has booked firm orders for 363 Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft and as of January 31, 2010, 288 had been delivered. Bombardier has also delivered 299 Dash 8-100/Q100, 105 Q200 and 267 Q300 aircraft to operators around the world.
