La società Comlux, operatore di voli super VIP con base all’aeroporto di Zurigo, ha ricevuto il suo primo Airbus A 318 Elite, uno dei tre ordinati, che è anche il primo esemplare in assoluto consegnato ad un cliente. Adesso l’aereo è in fase di allestimento, con una configurazione di cabina da soli 18 posti, presso la Lufthansa Technik di Amburgo. La ditta specializzata tedesca riconsegnerà l’aereo finito nella primavera del prossimo anno. Il nuovo bireattore della Comlux è spinto da turbofan CFM International CFM56-5.
L’A 318 Elite è il più piccolo e recente membro della famiglia Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ), che si è aggiunto all’originale Airbus ACJ (derivato dall’A 319) ed all’A 320 Prestige. I tre modelli hanno già totalizzato 80 ordini. Con una cabina di eccezionale spaziosità - i tre ACJ hanno la maggiore sezione di fusoliera tra i corporate jet – l’A 318 Elite è un’ottima alternativa per gli operatori del settore, ed un modello entry-level per chi vuole (e può) dotarsi di un super aereo executive.
Lanciato nell’autunno 2005, l’Airbus A 318 Elite ha volato per la prima volta nell’ottobre scorso. Derivato dall’aereo passeggeri A 318, esso dispone di installazioni specifiche per questa categoria di aerei come la cabina VIP, un serbatoio aggiuntivo centrale che conferisce autonomia transatlantica, quota di crociera aumentata a 41.000 piedi (12.500 m) e scalette integrali. L’A 318 Elite è stato anche certificato per avvicinamenti ripidi, in modo da permetterne l’utilizzo in aeroporti con norme antirumore particolarmente severe oppure dove esistono ostacoli sul sentiero di discesa.

Zurich-based VVIP charter company Comlux has taken delivery of the first Airbus A 318 Elite, one of three on order, which will make it the first to operate the type. The aircraft will now be outfitted with a VIP cabin seating up to 18 passengers, by Lufthansa Technik at Hamburg, which is due to deliver the completed aircraft in spring next year. It is powered by CFM International CFM56-5 engines.
The A 318 Elite is the newest and smallest member of the Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) Family, which also includes the Airbus ACJ (derived from A 319) and A 320 Prestige. The three models have won around 80 firm orders to date. Offering unprecedented comfort and spaciousness - like the rest of the family it has the widest cabin of any corporate jet - the A 318 Elite is an attractive trade-up option for existing customers and operators, as well as an affordable entry-level aircraft.
Launched in autumn 2005, the Airbus A 318 Elite made its first flight in October this year. Derived from the A 318 airliner, it incorporates additional corporate jet features – such as a VIP cabin, an additional centre tank that confers transatlantic range, a higher cruise altitude of 41,000 ft, and built-in airstairs. The A 318 Elite is also being certificated for steep approaches, which have the potential to allow operations at airports with tough noise rules and nearby obstacles.
