La compagnia nazionale cilena LanChile ha preso oggi in consegna dall’Airbus il suo primo bireattore A 319. La compagnia utilizza già con successo 14 A 320 e quattro A 340. L’arrivo dell’A 319 a Santiago, base d’armamento del vettore, rappresenta per la LanChile un ulteriore passo avanti nel processo di ammodernamento della flotta.
Spinti da turbofan International Aero Engines V2500-A5, i 14 A 319 ordinati avranno la cabina configurata in uno spazioso allestimento da 136 posti. Essi rimpiazzeranno altrettanti B.737-200 e saranno impiegati sulle rotte a corto raggio, sia domestiche che internazionali. Un secondo A 319 sarà consegnato prima della fine dell’anno.

Chilean flag carrier LanChile took delivery of its first A 319 from Airbus. The airline already successfully operates a fleet of 14 A 320s and four A 340s. The arrival of the A 319 at the carrier’s base in Santiago represents a further step in LanChile’s fleet modernisation plans.
Powered by V2500-A5 engines from International Aero Engines, the 14 A 319s on order will be configured in a comfortable single-class cabina seating 136 passengers. They will replace the B.737-200s and will be deployed on short-haul and regional routes. A second A 319 is due for delivery before the end of the year.
