Egyptair ha preso in consegna il primo dei sette Airbus A 330-200 ordinati, diventando un nuovo operatore di questo tipo di aereo. Il vettore utilizzerà questi velivoli sulle rotte verso l'Europa ed il Medio Oriente. Egyptair fu il primo acquierente di aerei Airbus nel mondo arabo, con il bimotore a cabina larga A 300, ed è tuttora uno dei maggiori utilizzatori di aerei di linea europei nel Medio Oriente. Egyptair has taken delivery of the first of seven Airbus A 330-200s on order, becoming a new operator of the type. It will use the aircraft on routes to Europe and within the Middle East. Each aircraft seats 24 passengers in business class and 244 in economy, and is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700s.
Egyptair was Airbus' first customer in the Arab world, with the A 300 twin-engine wide-body, and remains one of its largest customers in the Middle East. The A 330-200 is renowned for being the most efficient aircraft in its class, combining the lowest operating costs with high cargo capabilities that enhance airline profitability through freight operations.
