Nel 2007 Sergey Korostiev diventa il più giovane pilota collaudatore di SCAC a far parte del progetto SSJ-100 dopo essere stato pilota collaudatore all’Istituto di Ricerca Aeronautica Gromov (LII) con sede alla base aerea Zhukovsky/Ramenskoye. Terminati gli studi all’Accademia d'Ingegneria Militare, Korostiev è stato pilota dell’Aeronautica Militare Russa per dieci anni. Korostiev ha conseguito la laurea di pilota collaudatore nel 1999 e nel corso della sua carriera ha pilotato più di 40 tipi di velivolo, tra cui jet militari, aeroplani commerciali ed elicotteri. Oltre alla sua esperienza come pilota collaudatore, Sergey Korostiev ha lavorato anche come pilota commerciale sui velivoli Ilyushin Il-76, Antonov An-12 e jet executive Hawker. Nel 2006, assieme ad Anatoly Kvochur, Korostiev ha effettuato un volo non-stop di 15 ore lungo la rotta Chkalov fino all’estremo Oriente Russo, andata e ritorno. Sergey Korostiev ha realizzato nella sua carriera 3.500 ore di volo, delle quali più di 1.200 sono stati test di volo.

In 2007, Sergey Korostiev became the youngest SCAC test-pilot to join the SSJ100 project after being Gromov Flight Research Institute (LII) test pilot, at Zhukovsky/Ramenskoye air base. A graduate of the Higher Military Engineering Academy, Korostiev served as a pilot for ten years with the Russian Air Force. Korostiev graduated from Test-Pilot School in 1999 and has mastered over 40 aircraft types throughout his career, including fighter jets, commercial airplanes and helicopters. In addition to his test-flight activity Sergey Korostiev worked as a commercial pilot on Ilyushin Il-76, Antonov An-12, as well as Hawker business jet. In 2006, together with Anatoly Kvochur, Korostiev accomplished a 15-hour nonstop flight along the Chkalov route to the Far East of Russia and back. A holder of an Order of Courage, Sergey Korostiev has accumulated 3,500 flight hours, of which more than 1,200 hours have been in test-flights.
