Aeromedia Web: Five Years On-line

Five years ago, the first page of the Aeromedia web-site was put on Internet. Probably it was the first Italian aviation news file placed on-line. In autumn 1995, very few people in Italy were aware of Internet and cyberspace; a true minority of them were already modem-equipped.
Some months before, on the pages of Volare specialized magazine, Centro Studi Baskerville published an article offering its server free of charge, to host new webs covering the various aspects of aviation in Italy.
Aeromedia, till then using its Macintosh to produce text, graphics and images to their final layout before printing, decided to take its opportunity to enter a completely new field of action.
To develop an Italian aviation news e-zine, illustrated and bi-lingual, was our rather ambitious and very risky target.
Five years have just expired, Internet is now well established in Italy as an almost all-business tool, but Aeromedia (more than 1000 files later) is still on-line with its original non-profit spirit.
Many thanks to everybody who gave support to obtain this quite unexpected result. We enter our second quinquennium hoping to improve our site as a more interesting and useful information tool for an increasing number of our world-wide readers.
