La Boeing ha consegnato alla Inter Airlines, nuovo vettore charter turco basato ad Antalya, il suo primo aereo, un B.737-800. Inter Airlines lo utilizzerà per voli tra la Turchia e gli altri paesi europei, in attesa di ricevere un secondo esemplare verso fine 2002. L'aereo è noleggiato dalla GATX Financial Corporation.
Otto compagnie aeree turche operano 85 B.737 "classici" e della "Next-Generation" (B.737-600/700/800/900) facendone l'aereo di linea più diffuso nel paese. Inter Airlines è il sesto vettore turco a mettere in linea i "Next-Generation", potenziati dai nuovi turbofan CFMI CFM56-7, portandone il numero totale in Turchia a 50.
Sinora sono stati ordinati più di 5.000 B.737 e più di 4.000 sono già stati consegnati ad oltre 200 operatori in tutto il mondo.

The Boeing Company today delivered to Inter Airlines, a new Turkish charter airline based in Antalya, its first B.737-800 airplane. This is the very first airplane for the start up airline. Inter Airlines will operate charter flights between Turkish and European destinations and it is scheduled to take delivery of a second B.737-800 later this year. The carrier will fly the new B.737 under an operating lease through GATX Financial Corporation.
Eight airlines in Turkey operate 85 classic and Next-Generation B.737s, making it the most popular airplane flying Turkish skies. Inter Airlines is the sixth Turkish operator to fly the Next-Generation B.737, bringing the number of them in Turkey to over 50. New CFM56-7 engines produced by CFMI will power the 737-800s.
To date, more than 5,000 B.737s have been ordered and more than 4,000 have been delivered to more than 200 customers around the world.
