Il 14 aprile, ad Amburgo, la compagnia aerea privata francese Aigle Azur ha preso in consegna il primo bireatore Airbus A 319 ordinato direttamente al costruttore europeo. Il nuovo aeroplano si affianca ad altri dieci aerei della famiglia A 320 già in servizio con l’Aigle Azur: tre A 319, tre A 320 e quattro A 321.
Il nuovo A 319, con turbofan CFM International CFM56, trasporta 144 passeggeri in una cabina configurata su due classi.
L’attività dell’Aigle Azur s’incentra sul trasporto passeggeri verso le località turistiche dell’Europa meridionale, del bacino Mediterraneo, dell’Africa settentrionale ed occidentale. Le origini della Aigle Azur si richiamano all’omonima compagnia aerea creata nel 1946. L’attuale società - creata nel 1970 come Lucas Aigle Azur - ha cominciato ad utilizzare velivoli Airbus nel 2003 e, dal 2005, ha una flotta tutto-Airbus.

The French private airline Aigle Azur has received its first directly purchased brand new Airbus A 319 at a delivery ceremony in Hamburg yesterday. This new aircraft will join Aigle Azur’s fleet of ten A 320 Family aircraft, comprising three A 319s, three A 320s and four A 321s.
The new A 319 is powered by CFM56 engines from CFM International. In terms of cabin configuration, the airline has chosen a two-class cabin layout for 144 passengers.
Aigle Azur carries passengers to major tourist destinations in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean basin and Northern and Western Africa. The first Aigle Azur was founded in 1946, making the airline’s name the oldest flying in France. The current company – established in 1970 as Lucas Aigle Azur - became an Airbus operator in 2003 and since 2005, Aigle Azur has operated an all-Airbus fleet.
