Presso il Centro consegne Airbus di Amburgo, l’Air France ha preso oggi in consegna il primo dei 15 A 318 ordinati al costruttore europeo. La compagnia nazionale francese diventa così il primo vettore al mondo ad utilizzare tutti i modelli “a corridoio unico” prodotti dall’Airbus.
Come tutti i 123 esemplari di A 319, A 320 ed A 321 già in linea con il vettore francese, anche gli A 318 saranno spinti dai turbofon CFM56 ed avranno una sistemazione di cabina flessibile, suddivisa in tre classi: Espace Affaires, Tempo Challenge e Tempo. Nella configurazione scelta da Air France, l’A 318, che è il più piccolo rappresentante della famiglia Airbus A 320, trasporta fino a 123 passeggeri ed ha un raggio d’azione massimo di 3.250 miglia nautiche, pari a 6.000 chilometri.
“L’arrivo dell’ultimo membro della famiglia A 320 nella flotta dell’Air France non è un fatto che capita tutti i giorni. Esso rappresenta un traguardo importante per la nosta politica di flotta e nel nostro rapporto con Airbus e CFM International”, ha dichiarato Jean-Cyril Spinetta, Presidente dell’Air France.

Today Air France took delivery of the first of 15 A 318s on order from Airbus at the European manufacturer’s delivery centre in Hamburg, becoming the first operator of the entire Airbus single-aisle aircraft Family in the world.
Like all the French carriers’ 123 A 319s, A 320s and A 321s, Air France’s A 318s are to be powered by CFM56 engines and feature a flexible three-class Espace Affaires, Tempo Challenge and Tempo configuration. The A 318, which is the smallest member of Airbus’ A 320 Family, can accommodate up to 123 passengers in Air France’s cabin layout and has a range of 3,250 nm (6,000 km).
“The arrival of the latest member of the A 320 Family to the Air France fleet is not an everyday event. It marks an important stage in our fleet policy and our relations with Airbus and CFM International”, said Air France President Jean-Cyril Spinetta.
“We are proud that, with the arrival of the A 318, Air France’s short to medium range fleet is on the point of becoming an all Airbus fleet”, said Airbus President and Chief Executive Officer Noël Forgeard. “We thank Air France, one of our most valued customers, for having contributed to the development of our single-aisle family as a launch customer of both the A 320 and the A 318.”
