China Eastern Airlines ha ricevuto il primo dei suoi Airbus A 321, divenendo un nuovo operatore di questo tipo di aereo. La compagnia ha ordinato un totale di quattro A 321, che saranno consegnati tra il 2004 ed il 2005. Gli aeroplani, spinti da turbofan CFM56-5B prodotti dalla CFM International, sono configurati per 20 passeggeri in classe business e 157 in economy.
China Eastern Airlines, il primo e più grosso operatore di velivoli Airbus in Cina, ne utilizza già più di 90 esemplari tra A 319, A 320, A 300, A 310 ed A 340. Il vettore basato a Shanghai effettua collegamenti regolari con più di 40 città cinesi e 20 estere. Dal 1995, quando Airbus si è presentata sul mercato cinese, gli aerei della famiglia A 320 hanno guadagnato il favore degli operatori e dei passeggeri. Ad oggi, otto compagnie aeree cinesi utilizzano oltre 160 aerei di linea europei a corridoio singolo.

China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. has taken delivery of its first Airbus A 321 aircraft, becoming a new operator of the type. The airline has ordered a total of four A 321s, scheduled for delivery during 2004 and 2005. The A 321s, which, in the airline's configuration, provide a seating for 20 passengers in business class and 157 in economy, will be powered by CFM International's CFM56-5B engines.
China Eastern Airlines, the earliest and the largest operator of Airbus aircraft in China, already flies an Airbus fleet of more than 90 aircraft comprising A 319s, A 320s, as well as A 300s, A 310s and A 340s. The Shanghai-based carrier has air links to more than 40 domestic destinations and over 20 cities abroad. Since entering the Chinese market in 1995, the A 320 Family aircraft has been favoured by airlines and passengers alike. Eight Chinese airlines currently operate more than 160 European single aisle airliners.
