Alenia Aeronautica Seniors Day 2011

On December 3, 2011, the Alenia Aeronautica Seniors Group organized two prize-givings for personnel with 20, 25 and 30 years of service with the company. 7 “Maestri del lavoro” (Work Masters) with 35+ years also took part in the events, which date back to 1976. From January 1, 2012, at the end of the integration process between Alenia Aeronautica and Alenia Aermacchi, the resulting company will be named Alenia Aermacchi.
In the morning, the Pomigliano d'Arco (Naples) plant hosted the prize-giving ceremony for those new seniors belonging to the Capodichino, Casoria, Foggia, Grottaglie, Nola, Rome and Pomigliano factories. According to the recent company recovery plan, the Casoria factory and the Rome corporate seat will shut down.
The prize-giving for the Turin and Caselle plants was held in the afternoon at the Caselle South Flight-Test Center, in Hangar N° 71. Here, 5 employees received their golden pin for 20 years of service, 90 received a watch for 25 years and 222 received a gold watch for 30 years in the company.
At the Caselle South plant (the “Campo Volo”), a comprehensive static display, including a selection of aircraft types now in production or undergoing updating was lined along the factory flight line. Among those on display were a C27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft for the Romanian Air Force (available for inspection inside the cabin), a brand new single-seat EF 2000 fighter (MM7316 / IS048), the two-seat EF 2000 IPA2 (Instrumented Production Aircraft), an Italian Air Force Tornado IDS (C.S.X7075) just upgraded to "Basic IT Full MLU" configuration, a two-seater AMX ACOL attack aircraft operated by 101st OCU Group of 32nd Wing of the Italian Air Force, the Sky-X jet-powered remote-controlled demonstrator (I-EASB). This year, the long standing tradition of the flight display at the end of the ceremony was discontinued.
