Austrian Airlines Takes Control of Lauda Air
Austrian Airlines is buying Lauda Air 19,7% shares from Lufthansa and 9,7% from Mr. Niki Lauda, founder and president of the airline.
Austrian Airlines Group, which owns the 43% shares of Tyrolean Airways, the other major Austrian carrier, is going to comprise three airlines:
Austrian Airlines, 32 aircraft strong, operating scheduled services
Lauda Air, with 19 aircraft, active in the charter and regional markets
Tyrolean Airways which serves its own regional network with a fleet totalling 26 aircraft.
Austrian Airlines has recently introduced a new livery for the aircraft in its own fleet.
