Nove AW 139 per la Weststar Aviation Services
AgustaWestland ha confermato un ordine della malese Weststar Aviation Services, non annunciato a suo tempo, per nove esemplari del bimotore medio AW 139. Gli elicotteri saranno utilizzati nel settore del trasporto off-shore a supporto delle attività estrattive in Malesia.
Tutte e nove le macchine saranno consegnate entro il marzo 2011, segnando l'ingresso dell'AW 139 nel mercato off-shore del Sud Est Asiatico. Formata nel 2003, Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd, sussidiaria del gruppo Weststar, è una importante compagnia aerea specializzata nel trasporto charter con aerei ed elicotteri.
L'addestramento dei piloti, dei manutentori ed il supporto tecnico saranno forniti dall'AgustaWestland Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Questa società di proprietà dell'AgustaWestland, con sede all'aeroporto "Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah" di Kuala Lumpur, agisce come centro locale di manutenzione ed assistenza tecnico-logistica dei prodotti AgustaWestland.
Negli ultimi anni, l'AW 139 ha avuto un buon successo commerciale in Malesia, con vari ordini provenienti da operatori locali per trasporto aziendale, antincendio, emergenza e soccorso (EMS/SAR) e pattugliamento delle coste.

Altri elicotteri AW consegnati alla Croce Rossa del Sud Africa
La South African Red Cross Air Mercy Service (AMS) sta espandendo la propria attività con l'introduzione in servizio di un quarto monoturbina AW 119 Mk.II Ke ed un biturbina leggero AW 109S Grand. Questi mezzi saranno usati come eliambulanze da una serie di basi sparse nell'enorme territorio del paese. I nuovi elicotteri si affiancano ai tre AW 119 già in servizio con l'Air Mercy Service e segna l'ingresso del Grand nel settore dell'elisoccorso in Sud Africa.
Negli ultimi anni, l'AgustaWestland ha aumentato notevolmente la propria presenza nel mercato degli elicotteri civili in Sud Africa, con ordini per circa 30 macchine di vari modelli. La PAS (Precision Aviation Services), basata a Pretoria, è il rappresentante locale dell'AgustaWestland ed ha contribuito al successo di vendite fornendo un ampio spettro di servizi tecnico-logistici alla clientela.
La South African Red Cross AMS è un'organizzazione non-profit con basi a Città del Capo, Oudtshoorn, Durban, Richards Bay, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein e Kimberley che formano una rete di soccorso ed eliambulanza sia nei centri maggiori che nelle remote comunità rurali. Dalla sua creazione nel 1966, l'AMS ha aumentato la propria presenza e diversificato i propri compiti di supporto sanitario nelle province di Western Cape e Mpumalanga, oltre agli interventi nei villaggi delle province del KwaZulu-Natal e Northern Cape, che prima non fruivano della benchè minima assistenza sanitaria.

Consegnati i primi elicotteri Grand New in Francia e nel Principato di Monaco
Sono stati recentemente consegnati ai rispettivi proprietari i primi due biturbina leggeri AW 109SP Grand New immatricolati in Francia e Principato di Monaco. L'annuncio è stato dato nel corso di una cerimonia organizzata a Monaco da AgustaWestland e Monacair, operatore elicotteristico affiliato a SkyGroup.
Questi due Grand News saranno usati per trasporto passeggeri ed usufruiranno del supporto tecnico della francese Sky Maintenance Services (SMS), un'altra ditta di SkyGroup. Le due consegne fanno seguito alla nomina di SMS, nel maggio scorso, a "Service Centre" AgustaWestland per la gamma di elicotteri della serie A 109, ed in particolare i modelli AW 109E Power, AW 109S Grand ed AW 109SP Grand New.
Il centro servizi SMS è basato a Le Castellet, nel sud della Francia, e sarà dotato di un nuovo hangar per la manutenzione e la riparazione, oltre che come magazzino di parti di ricambio. SMS dispone anche di un hangar all’eliporto di Montecarlo ed una base ad Archamps, vicino a Ginevra, dislocati strategicamente in due zone dove operano diversi elicotteri AgustaWestland.
La capofila SkyGroup possiede diverse affiliate che operano in campo elicotteristico come la francese SkyCam, che dispone di una quindicina di mono e biturbina, e la Monacair che è il vettore ad ala rotante del Principato di Monaco. Tra i vari servizi offerti da SkyGroup ci sono le riprese aeree, la gestione elicotteri per conto terzi, il trasporto pubblico e l’addestramento per i piloti.
Finora AgustaWestland ha venduto una ventina di elicotteri sul mercato francese. Dopo il suo lancio nel febbraio di quest’anno, il Grand New ha raccolto oltre cinquanta ordini, per differenti impieghi, in tutto il mondo.

Nine AW 139s For Weststar Aviation Services
AgustaWestland confirmed a previously unannounced order by Weststar Aviation Services of Malaysia for nine AW 139 medium twin engine helicopters. The helicopters will be used to perform off-shore transport missions supporting oil & gas industry operations in Malaysia.
All nine aircraft will be delivered by March 2011 marking the entrance of the AW 139 in the South East Asia off-shore helicopter market. Formed in 2003, Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Weststar Group, is a leading aviation company providing helicopter and jet charter services.
Dedicated pilot and technician training services and a comprehensive support package will be provided by AgustaWestland Malaysia Sdn Bhd. This company - a wholly owned subsidiary of AgustaWestland - located at Kuala Lumpur's Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, is AgustaWestland regional maintenance and support centre.
The AW 139 has achieved great success in Malaysia in recent years with orders placed by local operators for corporate, fire fighting, EMS/SAR and coastal patrol missions.

More AW Helicopters Delivered to the South African Red Cross
The South African Red Cross Air Mercy Service (AMS) of is expanding its services by introducing into service a fourth AW 119 Mk.II Ke single engine helicopter and one AW 109S Grand light twin helicopter. These aircraft will be used for EMS and rescue tasks from bases across the country. These helicopters add to the three AW 119 aircraft already in service with Air Mercy Service and mark the entrance of the Grand in the South African EMS market.
AgustaWestland has achieved major growth in the South African commercial helicopter market in recent years having received orders for approximately 30 helicopters of various types. The Pretoria-based Precision Aviation Services (PAS) - authorised AgustaWestland Service Centre - is also making a major contribution to the recent commercial success of civil products by providing a comprehensive range of support services.
The South African Red Cross AMS is a non-profit organisation with bases in Cape Town, Oudtshoorn, Durban, Richards Bay, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Kimberley that provide an air ambulance network, rural health outreach and emergency rescue service to metropolitan areas and remote rural communities. Since its inception in 1966, the AMS has expanded its services to provide a comprehensive emergency aero-medical and rescue service to the Western Cape and Mpumalanga and health outreach programmes to the more remote communities of KwaZulu-Natal and the Northern Cape, who previously had little or no access to basic healthcare services.

First Grand New Helicopters for France and the Principality of Monaco Delivered
The first two AW 109SP Grand New light twin helicopters for France and the Principality of Monaco have been delivered to their respective owners. The announcement of the deliveries was performed during an official event held by AgustaWestland and Monacair, an affiliated company of SkyGroup, in Monaco.
These two Grand News will be flown for passenger transport purposes and will benefit from technical support provided by Sky Maintenance Services (SMS) of France, also a SkyGroup company. These two deliveries follow the appointment of SMS as an authorized AgustaWestland Service Centre in May this year for the A 109 series: AW 109E Power, AW 109S Grand and AW 109SP Grand New light twin models.
The SMS Service Centre, based in Le Castellet in southern France, will feature a brand new hangar providing maintenance and repair services as well as hosting a spare parts inventory. SMS also has a hangar facility at the Montecarlo heliport (Principality of Monaco) and a base in Archamps, close to Geneva (Swizerland), both serving two important areas where many AgustaWestland aircraft are in operation.
The parent company SkyGroup owns several affiliated companies specialised in the provision of helicopter services including SkyCam of France, which operates and manages approximately 15 single and twin engine helicopters, and Monacair headquartered at the Principality of Monaco Heliport. SkyGroup also offers aerial photography, helicopter management, public transportation and pilot training services.
Around 20 light twin helicopters have been sold by AgustaWestland in France to date. Following its launch in February this year, the Grand New has achieved orders for over 50 units so far for a variety of applications worldwide.
