Dopo la consegna del primo Boeing B.737-600 lo scorso aprile, Air Algerie ne ha ricevuti altri due esemplari, nell'ambito di un programma di completo rinnovo della flotta. L'impegnativa operazione comprende l'acquisto di sette B.737-800s e di cinque B.737-600, l'ultimo dei quali sarà consegnato entro il mese. Air Algerie è uno dei maggiori vettori africani con voli regolari, sia passeggeri che merci, verso l'Europa, il Medio Oriente e per altri paesi del'Africa settentrionale ed occidentale. Oltre ad una articolata rete di servizi domestici, essa svolge anche attività charter, aerotaxi e voli agricoli.
Ogni 5,6 secondi un B.737 decolla da un aeroporto. E' l'aereo di linea più diffuso nella storia dell'aviazione, con 5.000 esemplari ordinati a tutt'oggi.

After the first Boeing B.737-600 received past April, Air Algerie today took delivery of two more aircraft of the same type, as part of a complete fleet renewal program. Air Algerie's aggressive renewal effort includes seven new B.737-800s and five new B.737-600s. The final airplane in the order is scheduled for delivery later this month. Air Algerie is one of the largest air carriers in North Africa with scheduled passenger and cargo service to destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East as well as northern and western Africa. An extensive domestic network also is operated in addition to charter, air taxi and agricultural flight services.
With a B.737 taking off every 5.6 seconds from the world's airports, these are the best selling aircraft in aviation history with more than 5,000 orders to date.
