Emirates, la compagnia con base a Dubai, ordinerà tredici esemplari di B.777-300ER (Extended Range), per un importo di 2,96 miliardi di dollari. Quattro di questi aerei fanno parte di un ordine fermo che prevede la consegna nel 2006. I restanti rappresentano altrettanti "purchase rights" validi fino al 2012.
Emirates, che attualmente utilizza 21 Boeing 777, inizierà a ricevere dal prossimo anno un certo numero di altri B.777-300ER presi a noleggio. A quel punto essa diventerà la terza compagnia aerea del mondo ad operare quattro tipi di B.777 (-200, -200ER, -300 e -300ER). Entro la fine del 2007 Emirates avrà in linea 51 aerei di quasta famiglia, una delle maggiori flotte di B.777 al mondo.
Emirates impiegherà i nuovi B.777-300ER verso le principali destinazioni in Europa ed in Asia e per aprire nuovi collegamenti verso i mercati emergenti. Attualmente il vettore, che raggiunge già settantasette scali, sta conducendo una politica di forte sviluppo della propria rete di servizi.

Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, will order up to 13 B.777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes valued at $2.96 billion dollars at list price. Four of the airplanes are on firm order and will be delivered during 2006. The rest are covered by purchase rights that extend through 2012.
Emirates, which now operates 21 Boeing 777s, next year begins receiving a separate group of B.777-300ERs from leasing companies. At that point it will operate the B.777-200, B.777-200ER, B.777-300, and the B.777-300ER, becoming the third airline to operate the four models. By late 2007 Emirates will have 51 aircraft of this family, giving it one of the world's largest B.777 fleets.
Emirates will use the B.777-300ER to extend routes to key European and Asian cities, and fly to emerging markets. The airline currently serves seventy-seven destinations and has implemented an aggressive growth plan.
