I resti arrugginiti del Gloster Meteor TT Mk 20 SE-DCH che giacciono al castello di Savigny-lès-Beaune nel 2008. Originariamente Meteor NF Mk 11 serial WM391 della RAF, poi della Reale Forza Aerea Danese con codice 51-508, infine della Svenska Flygvekstäder e sottoposto a fermo giudiziario a Gosselies nel 1971. Com’è evidente, gli aerei metallici non sono immuni all’esposizione all’aperto e la collezione francese di aerei storici rischia di trasformarsi in un cumulo di rottami. (François Létienne)
The remains of the Gloster Meteor TT Mk 20 SE-DCH lying at Savigny-lès-Beaune castle in 2008. Originally it was an RAF Meteor NF Mk 11 serial WM391, then in service with the Royal Danish Air Force coded 51-508, and finally owned by Svenska Flygvekstäder before being impounded at Gosselies in 1971. As is evident, metal aircraft are not invulnerable to open-air exhibition and the French collection risks becoming a pile of scrap metal. (François Létienne)
