Air Quest for Bigfoot

Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Yeren, Yowie are just a few names given to one of the more elusive creature of the planet. Only big foot-prints of the legendary wood-man were found until now. But, what does this mystical beast have to do with aviation?
If you are going to find one of these creatures, you need stealth, quietness, the ability to come upon your target in nearly total silence, ready for that perfect shot. In this case the perfect shot is not with a rifle, it’s with an infrared camera mounted to the wing of a Pipistrel Virus, one of the quietest ultralight in the world aimed to the U.S. Light Sport Aircraft market.
Late last year an expedition was mounted into the high Sierra Mountains on the USA West Coast searching for the Sasquatch or Bigfoot as it is locally known.
The resulting documentary film will be broadcasted by “Monster Quest”, a very popular program shown around the world on the History Channel or on Discovery Channel. It researches into strange and bizarre creatures that inhabit the more remote regions of our planet rarely visited by human beings.
To find the mysterious creature, the team of “Monster Quest” relied on Roger Musso, a local pilot and Bigfoot expert, and his specially equipped Virus. A series of flights was mede over the mountain areas where Bigfoot is supposed to live. Much of the collected information is still beyond top secret and nothing can really be said until the program airs on TV shortly. (from a report by Michael Coates)
