Dopo nove mesi di prove, un altro membro della famiglia degli E-Jet, l’ERJ-190, è stato certificato per l’avvicinamento ripido all’aeroporto London City (LCY), scalo d’affari non distante dal centro della capitale britannica. L’ERJ-170 aveva ricevuto la stessa certificazione nel 2007 e viene attualmente utilizzato a LCY dalla British Airways.
Il raggio d’azione di un ERJ-190 in partenza dal London City è di oltre 800 miglia nautiche (1.500 km), pari alle attuali rotte operate da questo aeroporto. Potranno anche essere raggiunte nuove imortanti destinazioni europee.
La British Airways CityFlyer, la svizzera Baboo con base a Ginevra e la tedesca Lufthansa Cityline saranno le prime compagnie aeree ad utilizzare l’ERJ-190 dal London City.

After a rigorous nine-month process, Embraer has received steep approach certification for another member of its E-Jets family, the ERJ-190, to operate at London’s premier business airport, London City (LCY). The ERJ-170 received the same certification in 2007 and is currently operated by British Airways at LCY.
The range of the ERJ-190 out of LCY is over 800 nautical miles (1,500 km), covering all current routes and bringing important European business destinations within reach.
British Airways’ CityFlyer, Switzerland’s Geneva-based Baboo Airlines, and Germany’s Lufthansa Cityline will be the first to operate the ERJ-190 out of London City airport.
