Nel settembre 2009, Eclipse Aerospace Inc. (EAI) ha acquisito i beni materiali dell’Eclipse Aviation Corporation che era caduta in gravi difficoltà finanziarie. L'impegno iniziale è stato quello di portare a termine lo sviluppo del promettente Very Light Jet Eclipse, garantendo le prestazioni che erano state previste per il piccolo bireattore privato. EAI ha rivisto il progetto originale dell'Eclipse, apportando una serie di modifiche volte a garantire la completa certificazione del tipo da parte della FAA.
Ad un anno di distanza, Eclipse Aerospace comunica di aver trovato una soluzione efficace per porre rimedio alle interferenze statiche provocate dal parabrezza (disturbi alle radiocomunicazioni ndr) e di aver introdotto alcune modifiche di progetto per consentire le operazioni fino a 41.000 piedi d'altezza. EAI è pronta ad offrire questi aggiornamenti, in retrofit, a tutti i possessori degli Eclipse già in servizio.
Oltre al parabrezza modificato, EAI afferma di aver risolto i problemi ingegneristici che avevano generato una Airworthiness Directive FAA che limitava la quota dell'Eclipse a 37.000 piedi. Sono in corso voli prova per verificare che le modifiche rispondano ai requisiti. La certificazione delle alterazioni al progetto originale dell'aereo dovrebbero essere certificate entro l'anno. Una volta installate a bordo, queste soluzioni consentiranno all'EA500 di tornare a volare ad una quota di 41.000 piedi.
Negli stessi giorni, il costruttore USA ha anche annunciato, congiuntamente a SimCom Training Centers, che la FAA ha rilasciato la certificazione "Level D" al simulatore "full motion" dell'EA500 installato ad Orlando, in Florida. L'accordo tra le due ditte prevede che SimCom sarà il fornitore esclusivo per l'addestramento con simulatore dei piloti di Eclipse.
A luglio, infine, la VNE Jet di Henderson (Nevada) è stata scelta come "Gold Service Center" esclusivo, per l'Eclipse EA500, nel Sud-Ovest degli Stati Uniti. VNE Jet fornirà a tutti gli Eclipse EA500 attivi dell'area manutenzione, pezzi di ricambio, ispezioni strutturali, motori ed avionica, oltre all’assistenza d'emergenza in caso di "Aircraft On Ground".

In September 2009, Eclipse Aerospace Inc. (EAI) acquired the assets of bankrupcy Aclipse Aviation Corporation, to finish the design and ensure promised capabilities of the breakthrough Eclipse 500 Very Light Jet. Since acquisition of the company, Eclipse Aerospace has been investing in, and completing the design and certification of, the original Eclipse jet, including FIKI (Flight Into Known Icing) and GPS coupled autopilot.
Eclipse Aerospace today announced the completion of the enhanced windshield application for the dissipation of precipitation static on windshields, and aircraft design changes for operation up to 41,000 feet. EAI is committed to bring these upgrades to market for existing Eclipse aircraft manufactured by the previuos company.
In addition to the improved windshield application, EAI also announces the successful completion of the engineering requirements addressing the existing FAA Airworthiness Directive, restricting flight to 37,000 feet. Eclipse is actively testing these modifications and has completed the final design. Final certification of the aircraft modifications are expected prior to the end of the year. After installation in the aircraft, these modifications will permit the EA500 to return to a service ceiling of 41,000 feet.
In September, 2010, Eclipse Aerospace, in conjunction with SimCom Training Centers, also announced the FAA has awarded Level D certification of the EA500 full motion simulators located in Orlando, Florida. The agreement between the companies established SimCom as the exclusive provider of factory authorized simulator based training for Eclipse.
In July, 2010, Eclipse Aerospace announced that VNE Jet, located in Henderson, Nevada has been selected as the exclusive US Southwest Region factory authorized "Gold Service Center" for the Eclipse EA500 VLJ aircraft. VNE Jet will provide maintenance services, parts distribution, airframe, engine and avionics inspections as well as AOG (Aircraft On Ground) services for the Eclipse EA500 within the region.
