Nel settembre 2009, Eclipse Aerospace Inc. (EAI) ha acquisito i beni materiali dell’Eclipse Aviation Corporation che era caduta in gravi difficoltà finanziarie. L'impegno iniziale è stato quello di portare a termine lo sviluppo del promettente Very Light Jet Eclipse, garantendo le prestazioni che erano state previste per il piccolo bireattore privato. EAI ha rivisto il progetto originale dell'Eclipse, apportando una serie di modifiche volte a garantire la completa certificazione del tipo da parte della FAA.
Eclipse Aerospace si appresta a partecipare alla prossima convention europea dell'aviazione d'affari EBACE 2010 di Ginevra. Sarà presentato in mostra statica il primo Eclipse EA500 destinato all'operatore aerotaxi spagnolo JetReady Europe, con base all'aeroporto di Valencia.
Recentemente l'EA500 è stato certificato dall'EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) risultando conforme agli standard operativi europei. Per l'ottenimento di questa certificazione è stata introdotta la capacità FIKI (Flight into Known Icing) ed il GPS è stato accoppiato all'autopilota.
Lo scorso 16 maggio, EAI ha annunciato il lancio del primo "Platinum Service Center" europeo per l'assistenza tecnica degli Eclipse EA500. Con sede ad Istambul, il centro fornirà servizi MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) agli Eclipse che saranno venduti in Europa, Medio Oriente ed Africa. La struttura potrà effettuare manutenzione programmata o straordinaria, compresi gli aggiornamenti AVIO e FIKI, risoluzione problematiche AOG "Aircraft On Ground" fino all’invio di personale specializzato sotto forma di MRT "Mobile Response Team".
A sua volta, il 6 maggio, la Boca Aircraft Maintenance - con sede a Boca Raton, Florida - è stata scelta come "Gold Service Center" esclusivo per l'area del Sud-Est degli Stati Uniti. La Boca Aircraft Maintenance fornirà servizi di manutenzione, magazzino ricambi, ispezioni strutturali, ai motori ed all’avionica ed interventi AOG per gli Eclipse EA500 presenti nella regione.

In September 2009, Eclipse Aerospace Inc. (EAI) acquired the assets of bankrupcy Eclipse Aviation Corporation, to finish the design and ensure promised capabilities of the breakthrough Eclipse Very Light Jet. Since acquisition of the company, Eclipse Aerospace has been investing in, and completing the design and certification of the original Eclipse jet.
Eclipse Aerospace will participate in the upcoming EBACE 2010 convention and exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland. At the show they will display the first Eclipse EA500 to be operated by air taxi operator JetReady Europe, headquartered in Valencia, Spain.
The EA500 can now be delivered fully conformed to European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification and European Operation standards. The new features for EASA compliance include Flight into Known Icing (FIKI) capability and GPS coupled autopilot.
On May 16, 2010, EAI announced the launch of its first Platinum Service Center in Europe for Eclipse EA500 aircraft service, maintenance and modifications located in İstanbul, Turkey. The Service Center will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support for Eclipse EA500 operators in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This facility will provide scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including AVIO and FIKI upgrades, Aircraft On Ground (AOG) and Mobile Response Team (MRT) support.
May 6, 2010, Boca Aircraft Maintenance - located in Boca Raton, Florida - has been selected as the exclusive US Southeast Region factory authorized "Gold Service Center". Boca Aircraft Maintenance will provide maintenance services, parts distribution, airframe, engine and avionics inspections as well as AOG services for the Eclipse EA500 within the region.
