Sei caccia Eurofighter 2000 del 4° Stormo dell’Aeronautica Militare Italiana sono giunti alla base della Luftwaffe di Rostock/Laage (Macleburgo-Pomerania Anteriore) per prendere parte all’esercitazione NATO "Brilliant Ardent 2010", ospitata dalle Forze Aeree Tedesche dall’11 al 22 aprile 2010.
Il Jagdgeschwader 73 "Steinhoff" della Luftwaffe non ha solo accolto i sei caccia di Grosseto ma anche tre C-27J con materiale di supporto e 120 membri del personale tecnico dello Stormo che si prenderanno cura dei velivoli durante lo svolgimento delle manovre.
L’esercitazione, guidata dal Comandante dell’Allied Air Command, con sede a Smirne in Turchia, coinvolge circa 60 tipi diversi di aerei impiegati dalle Forze Aeree della Repubblica Ceca, Francia, Germania, Italia, Polonia, Turchia e Stati Uniti.
(NdR: è presumibile che l’esercitazione sarà in qualche modo condizionata dalla nuvola di polvere che ha investito l’Europa a seguito dell’eruzione del vulcano islandese Eyjafjallajoekull. Nell’area settentrionale del Vecchio Continente, già il 14 aprile, erano presenti potenziali rischi per il volo in alta quota.)

Six Italian Eurofighter 2000s 4th Stormo landed in Rostock/Laage Luftwaffe Air Base (in Macklenburg-Vorpommern Land) to participate in NATO Exercise "Brilliant Ardent 2010", which is being hosted by the German Air Force from the 12th until the 22nd April 2010.
The German Luftwaffe Jagdgeschwader 73 "Steinhoff" did not only welcome six Italian Eurofighter aircraft from Grosseto IAF air base but also welcomed three Italian Air Force C-27J transport aircraft and 120 air crew of the 4th Stormo, to be on duty to support the aircraft participating in the exercise.
This exercise, led by the Commander of the Allied Air Command in Izmir, Turkey, involves approximately 60 different types of aircraft operated by Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey and the USA.
