Embraer ha consegnato oggi il primo Embraer ERJ-170 alla Republic Airways Holdings. Republic ha ordinato 22 aerei di questo tipo più 28 opzioni, tutti destinati ad operare per la United Airlines, tramite la sussidiaria United Express.
“La consegna del nostro primo Embraer 170 inaugura una nuova fase nella crescita della nostra società, permettendoci di incrementare sensibilmente le nostre operazioni per conto della United Express. Le caratteristiche del 170 ne fanno un vero aereo di linea ai costi di un velivolo regionale,” ha detto Bryan Bedford, Presidente e CEO della Republic Airways Holdings.
Gli Embraer 170, che entreranno in servizio con la United Express da metà ottobre, saranno configurati per 70 posti complessivi, sei dei quali in prima classe, 16 in economy plus e 48 in economica. Questi saranno i primi Embraer 170 ad essere utilizzati con una cabina suddivisa in più classi.
Republic Airways Holdings è basata ad Indianapolis, nell’Indiana, ed attualmente dispone di una flotta composta da 95 jet regionali Embraer: 63 ERJ-145, 15 ERJ-140 e 17 ERJ-135. Tutti i suoi voli sono operati per conto di compagnie aeree maggiori come American Connection, Delta Connection, United Express ed US Airways Express.
L’Embraer 170 è il primo rappresentante di una famiglia di quattro velivoli con capacità crescenti da 70 a 110 passeggeri. Esso ha ricevuto la certificazione del tipo nel febbraio 2004 ed è entrato immediatamente il linea con vettori europei ed americani. Al 30 giugno 2004, la famiglia 170/190 si è assicurata 273 ordini fermi e 347 opzioni.

Embraer today delivered the first Embraer ERJ-170 to Republic Airways Holdings. Republic has orders for 22 aircraft of this type and has taken options for 28, all of which are set to serve United Airlines through United Express.
“The delivery of our first Embraer 170 ushers in a new period in the continue growth of our company and will allow us to support our growing United Express operation. The 170’s unique design allows us to offer United a true mainline product but at regional jet operating economics,” said Bryan Bedford, Chairman, President and CEO of Republic Airways Holdings.
The Embraer 170s will enter operation with United Express by mid-October; configured with 70 seats, including six first class, 16 economy plus and 48 economy seats. These will be the first Embraer 170s in service with a two-class cabin arrangement.
Republic Airways Holdings is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and currently operates a fleet of 95 Embraer regional jets, including 63 ERJ-145s, 15 ERJ-140s and 17 ERJ-135s. All of its flights are operated under its major airline partners brands, including American Connection, Delta Connection, United Express and US Airways Express.
The Embraer 170 is the first of a four-member jet family designed to tap the seat capacity gap varying from 70 to 110-seats. This aircraft received type certification in February 2004 and subsequently entered commercial service with airlines in the U.S. and Europe. As of June 30, 2004, the Embraer 170/190 family had logged 273 firm orders and 347 options.
