L’Embraer ha solennizzato la consegna del primo ERJ-190 al cliente di lanci JetBlue Airways con una cerimonia tenutasi negli uffici direttivi del costruttore brasiliano a São José dos Campos. La compagnia low-fare statunitense ha piazzato ordini per 101 esempalri di ERJ-190 e ne riceverà circa 18 all’anno fino al 2011. La JetBlue inserirà in servizio il suo primo E-Jet verso l’inizio di novembre.
“I passeggeri e gli equipaggi della JetBlue aspettavano da tempo questa giornata,” ha detto David Neeleman, CEO di JetBlue. “Mentre guardo questo bell’aereo appena costruito, penso che potrò estendere le vantaggiose tariffe della JetBlue a molte nuove comunità del Nord America. Con comode poltrone in pelle a gruppi di due, 100 canali radio XM Satellite e 36 canali gratuiti DirecTV oppure film sui voli più lunghi, sono sicuro che questo aeroplano farà veramente colpo.”
Gli ERJ-190 della JetBlue sono configurati con cento poltroncine distanziate di circa 33 pollici, in classe unica, consentendo a tutti i passeggeri un posto vicino al finestrino oppure uno lungo il corridoio, soluzione che facilita l’accesso ed il movimento in cabina. Sugli aerei è presente il sistema di intrattenimento standard, con un grosso schermo da 6,8 pollici sul retro dei sedili.
Il cento-posti ERJ-190 è stato certificato dalla U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) il 2 settembre 2005, tre giorni dopo la certificazione del tipo rilasciata dall’omologo ente tecnico brasiliano CTA (Centro Técnico Aeroespacial). Tra breve è attesa anche la certificazione da parte dell’European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) e dalla Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA). L’ERJ-190 è il terzo modello di E-Jet a ricevere la certificazione del tipo. L’intera famiglia Embraer 170/190 ha ottenuto 412 ordini fermi (177 per l’ERJ-190) e 373 opzioni entro il 30 giugno 2005.

Embraer today celebrates delivery of the first ERJ-190 to launch customer JetBlue Airways during a ceremony held at the manufacturer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The U.S. low-fare airline has placed firm orders for 101 ERJ-190s and expects to take delivery of approximately 18 of the new aircraft each year between 2005 and 2011. JetBlue service with its first E-Jet is expected to begin in November.

JetBlue's ERJ-190 aircraft are configured with 100 seats in a comfortable 33-32 inch pitch in one single class that ensures all customers an aisle or a window seat with easy access and movement throughout the cabin. JetBlue E-Jets are equipped with its customary in-seat entertainment system, featuring large 6.8 inch video screens.
The 100-seat ERJ-190 received U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification Sept. 2, 2005, three days after certification was awarded by Brazil’s Centro Técnico Aeroespacial (CTA). The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) are expected to certify the aircraft soon. The ERJ-190 is the third in Embraer’s four-member E-Jets family to receive type certification. The Embraer 170/190 family has logged 412 firm orders (177 for the ERJ-190) and 373 options as of June 30, 2005.
