Embraer e Royal Jordanian Airlines hanno firmato un contratto per l’acquisto di sette bireattori Embraer 195, con consegne ad iniziare dal prossimo ottobre. I velivoli trasporteranno 100 passeggeri in una configurazione di cabina a due classi, con 12 poltrone in Crown Class ed 88 in Economy, spaziate rispettivamente di 106 ed 84 centimetri. Gli aerei in arrivo saranno impiegati su varie rotte del Medio Oriente, verso l’Africa e l’Europa.
“Gli Embraer ERJ-195 di nuova generazione permetteranno alla Royal Jordanian di sviluppare meglio le potenzialità dello scalo di Amman come hub della regione. Consentiranno anche di aumentare le frequenze e di aprire nuove rotte in modo economicamente valido,” ha dichiarato Samer Majali, Presidente e Chief Executive Officer della Royal Jordanian Airlines.
Prima compagnia aerea araba invitata ad unirsi all’alleanza Oneworld, Royal Jordanian è cliente di lancio dell’ERJ-195 nell’area mediorientale. L’aereo, uno dei quattro rappresentanti della famiglia Embraer 170/190, riceverà la certificazione del tipo verso la metà del-2006.
A fine dicembre 2005, 118 esemplari di questa nuova famiglia di jet regionali, con capacità crescente da 70 a 118 posti, erano già stati consegnati a vari operatori in Europa, Medio Oriente, Asia, Nord e Centro America. Alla stessa data i quattro aerei hanno già ricevuto ordini fermi per 440 esemplari ed opzioni per altri 362.

Embraer and Royal Jordanian Airlines today have signed a contract for the acquisition by the airline of seven firm Embraer 195s, with deliveries due to start in October this year. The aircraft will be configured to carry 100 passengers in a two-class layout, with 12 seats in Crown Class and 88 seats in Economy Class, with a pitch of 42” and 33”, respectively. The aircraft will be deployed on routes to the Middle East, Africa and into Europe.
“Embraer’s new generation ERJ-195s will provide Royal Jordanian with the ability to truly develop Amman as a hub for the region. They will allow us to increase frequency and enter new routes at the lowest possible cost,” said Mr Samer Majali, Royal Jordanian’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
The first Arab airline invited to join the Oneworld alliance, Royal Jordanian is the launch customer in the Middle East for the ERJ-195. The aircraft, one of four members of a new Embraer 170/190 family, is due to receive its type certification in mid-2006.
At the end of December 2005, 118 units of this new family of aircraft, seating from 70 to 118 passengers, were delivered to airlines in Europe, Middle East, North and Central America and Asia. As of December 31, 2005 the new Embraer jet family orderbook totaled 440 firm orders and 362 options.
