La compagnia statale TAME, Línea Aérea del Ecuador, e l'Embraer hanno reso noto, in una conferenza stampa a Quito, la firma di una Letter of Intent (LOI) per l'acquisizione di sette aerei della famiglia Embraer 170/190. L'accordo prevede che la TAME comprerà due ERJ-170LR configurati per 70 passeggeri ed un ERJ-190 da 98 posti. Gli altri quattro aerei sono per ora in opzione. Con più di 300 esemplari coperti da ordini fissi e quasi 400 opzioni, la nuova famiglia regionale Embraer 170/190, con 36 aerei in servizio entro l'anno, si avvia a rinnovare il successo della precedente famiglia ERJ-145.
"I rapporti commerciali tra Ecuador ed Embraer durano da parecchi anni. Prosegue anche l'attività in comune con il governo e le forze aeree in vista della fornitura all'Ecuador dei nostri più moderni aerei militari," ha affermato Maurício Botelho, Presidente e CEO dell'azienda brasiliana. Tra questi c'è la versione ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) sviluppata dalla piattaforma dell'EMB-145. L'EMB-145 RS/AGS (Remote Sensing/Air-to-Ground Surveillance) già in servizio con le Forze Aeree Brasiliane (FAB) nell'ambito del programma SIVAM per la sorveglianza del bacino Amazzonico. L'EMB-145 MP (Maritime Patrol) utilizzato dalle Forze Aeree Massicane. L'EMB-145 AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) prossimo all'entrata in servizio con le Forze Aeree Greche.
Recentemente l'U.S Army ha assegnato a Lockheed Martin un contratto per realizzare una nuova generazione di sistemi aerotrasportati "Multi Intel", utilizzando come piattaforma l'EMB-145. Un altro recente prodotto dell'industria brasiliana è il multiruolo Super Tucano, velivolo da addestramento militare e supporto tattico, particolarmente adatto alle condizioni operative della foresta Amazzonica. La FAB ha infatti inserito il Super Tucano nel programma SIVAM.

TAME Línea Aérea del Ecuador, the state-run Ecuadorian airline, and Embraer announced at a press conference in Quito today the signature of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the acquisition of seven Embraer 170/190 family aircraft. Under the agreement, TAME will acquire two ERJ-170LR, configured for 70 passengers, and one ERJ-190, configured for 98 passengers. The other four aircraft are options. With more than 300 aircraft on firm order and nearly 400 options, the new Embraer 170/190 family, of which 36 jets will be operating in the world as of the end of this year, will match the success of the ERJ-145 family.
"The relationship between Ecuador and Embraer is a long-term one. We continue working in partnership with the Government and the Ecuadorian Air Force to expand this cooperation by supplying our modern military planes," said Maurício Botelho, Embraer President and CEO. Among these products is the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft based on the EMB-145 platform. The EMB-145 RS/AGS (Remote Sensing/Air-to-Ground Surveillance) is in operation with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) in the Amazon Surveillance Program (SIVAM). The EMB-145 MP (Maritime Patrol) is in operation with the Mexican Air Force. The EMB-145 AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) will shortly enter into service with the Greek Air Force.
Recently, the US Army awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to provide the new generation of Multi Intel systems, based on EMB-145 platform. Another product deserving special mention is Embraer's multi-purpose Super Tucano, an aircraft for military training and tactical support specially designed for operation in the particular and peculiar conditions of the Amazon Forest. Brazil's FAB has incorporated the Super Tucano to the SIVAM program.
