European Intergovernmental Conference in Turin
A look to the aviation side of the conference

On 29 March the European Intergovernmental Conference was held in the new Lingotto meeting center in Turin. This created an unusual aviation activity over the town and its surrounding area. Security from the air has been assured by half a dozen of helicopters belonging to the State Police, the Carabinieri Corps and the Custom Police.
The usual air activity at the Turin's airports was discontinued to ease the arrivals and departures of the VIP aircraft.
On Saturday 30th March, the "no fly zone" was invaded by an unaware Swiss pilot flying an Air Glaciers Bell 206B helicopter that was forced to pay a visit to the Turin-Aeritalia airfield for a security check.

The most interesting "presidential" aircraft seen at Caselle were French Air Force's Airbus A310 and Falcon 900, Luftwaffe's Airbus A310 and Challenger, a Belgian Air Force Boeing 727-29C, a Dutch Fokker 70, a RAF BAe 146, a Swedish Gulfstream IV.
