Executive Jet ha ordinato cinquanta esemplari del nuovo velivolo executive "super mid-sized" IAI Galaxy. La commessa stipulata con la General Dynamics, che comprende anche cinquanta opzioni e la manutenzione, ha un valore complessivo di 2 miliardi di dollari. Solo negli ultimi mesi, Executive Jets ha investito 3,65 miliardi di dollari in ordini per nuovi velivoli da inserire nel programma di multiproprietà NetJets.
"Prevediamo di mettere in linea il primo Galaxy verso la metà del 2002" ha dichiarato Richard T. Santulli, presidente della Executive Jet. A sua volta Bill Boisture, alto dirigente General Dynamics, ha espresso la sua soddisfazione per la fiducia riposta nel Galaxy da parte di Executive Jet, che si avvia ad essere il principale operatore di velivoli "super mid-sized" in multiproprietà. Executive Jet è comunque già il maggiore utilizzatore di aerei d'affari del mondo. Ha attualmente in linea 345 velivoli, con altri 596 in via di consegna.
Negli ultimi cinque anni, Executive Jet ha ordinato 941 nuovi aerei executive destinati al programma NetJets, per un valore complessivo di 17 miliardi di dollari. Questo importo rappresenta il 40% del giro d'affari dell'intero settore.
General Dynamics è rientrata nel mondo aeronautico lo scorso anno, con l'acquisto della Gulfstream Aerospace e, nei giorni scorsi, ha preso il controllo anche della Galaxy Aerospace che commercializza gli aerei executive prodotti dalla Israel Aircraft Industries.
A tuttoggi gli ordini e le opzioni NetJets alla Gulfstream Aerospace hanno raggiunto gli 88 velivoli, compresi 40 Gulfstream IV-SP in servizio ed altri 16 in arrivo. Due dei 32 Gulfstream V ordinati sono già in servizio, con sei esemplari in consegna entro l'anno.

Executive Jet, Inc. has ordered 50 super mid-sized IAI Galaxy aircraft with an option for 50 more from General Dynamics for the company's NetJets fractional aircraft ownership program. Total value of the order, options and maintenance services is approximately $2 billion.
In the last month alone, Executive Jet has ordered over $3.65 billion worth of aircraft to meet the growing demand of its NetJets fractional aircraft program.
"We plan to introduce the first Galaxy business jet into the NetJets program in the second quarter 2002," said Richard T. Santulli, Executive Jet's chairman and chief executive officer.
Bill Boisture, General Dynamics executive vice president and president and chief operating officer of its Gulfstream Aerospace unit said "Executive Jet's order represents a major endorsement of the Galaxy business jet and signals Executive Jet's intention to be first to market in the super mid-size fractional ownership business."
General Dynamics was back in aviation past year, after the buy-out of Gulfstream Aerospace. Some days ago it took over also Galaxy Aerospace, established some years ago to promote sales of the business aircraft models manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries.
Executive Jet is the world's largest operator of private business jets. Today, Executive Jet manages 345 aircraft, with more than 596 aircraft on order. In 2001, NetJets will fly more than 200,000 flights for NetJets owners to more than 92 countries.
In the last five years, Executive Jet has ordered 941 new aircraft for the NetJets fractional ownership program totaling more than $17 billion. This represents more than 40 percent of the total business aircraft ordered. To date, NetJets orders and options for Gulfstream aircraft have reached 88, comprising 40 Gulfstream IV-SPs with 16 more on order. In addition, 32 Gulfstream Vs have been ordered with two in operation today and six more scheduled for this year.
