I quattro E-Jet della famiglia Embraer 170/190 hanno volato per la prima volta tutti insieme a fine dicembre, decollando dal centro prove volo della ditta a Gavião Peixoto. Il volo di gruppo comprendeva il 70 posti ERJ-170, già in servizio commerciale in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, il 78 posti ERJ-175 recentemente certificato, l’ERJ-190 da 100 passeggeri e l’ERJ-195 che ne porta fino a 108.
Con uno sfondo di cielo azzurro e nuvole basse, gli aerei si sono esibiti per 90 minuti, di fronte ai fotografi, in vari tipi di formazione. Con tutta la famiglia di aerei contemporaneamente in volo – compreso un velivolo già in servizio - Embraer ha voluto sottolineare il suo impegno per offrire al mercato una gamma di validissimi prodotti per tutte le esigenze nel settore degli aerei regionali tra i 70 ed i 110 posti.
In fase di sviluppo dal 1999, la nuova famiglia, finanziata con le normali soluzioni di mercato, ha raggiunto un importante tappa, nel dicembre 2004, con il primo volo dell’ERJ-195 presso lo stabilimento principale del costruttore brasiliano. All’evento hanno preso, con comprensibile soddisfazione, le maestranze che hanno contribuito a realizzare il più grande aereo dall’Embraer. L’ERJ-190 e l’ERJ-195 sono attualmente impegnati nel regolare svolgimento dei voli di certificazione. Al 30 settembre 2004, gli aerei di questa famiglia di aerei regionali avevano già ricevuto 325 ordini fermi e 383 opzioni.

The four E-Jets of the Embraer 170/190 family flew together for the first time in late December at the Company’s Gavião Peixoto flight test facility. The flying display featured the 70-seat ERJ-170, already in revenue service in the U.S. and Europe, the recently certified 78-seat ERJ-175, the 100-seat ERJ-190 and the 108-seat ERJ-195.
Against a background of blue skies and low clouds, the aircraft flew in several different formations during the 90-minute flight. With all four members of the aircraft family flying - including one in revenue service - Embraer shows its commitment to the market and delivers on its promise of offering an unmatched jet family solution tailored to tap the 70- to 110-seat regional airliner market.
In development since 1999, the new family, funded completely through free market solutions, reached another major milestone in December 2004 when the ERJ-195 made its first flight at the Company’s headquarters before a cheering crowd of employees who helped to build the biggest airplane ever assembled by Embraer. Currently, the ERJ-190 and the ERJ-195 are in their certification campaigns, which are progressing as scheduled. As of September 30, 2004, the new jet family had logged 325 firm orders and 383 options.
