Farnborough International 2000

Farnborough International 2000, the British aerospace show, will be hold from 24 to 30 July. The first five days are for trade operators only; the final week-end is open also to general public. Although the traditional air-show formula is under pressure by e-commerce and industrial concentration process, the event organizer SBAC (Society of British Aerospace Companies) reports a 13% increase of covered area for the 700 plus exhibitors.
The new European giants EADS and BAE Systems will be present in their new corporate form. Both Honeywell and Thompson-CSF, which made significant acquisitions in the past months, will participate as larger assets.
About one hundred aircraft will be on static and flying display. Some important new products will make their public debut: Boeing 767-400ER, Bombardier CRJ700, Embraer ERJ-140, Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet and LMATTS C-27J Spartan II.
However at Farnborough International 2000 the main subjects of discussion will be aircraft still on the drawing board like Airbus A 3XX, A 400M and Boeing B.747X.
