Helicopter Emergency Service Statistics for Piedmont

The Azienda Sanitaria ZERO agency coordinates the Piedmont Region's regional air ambulance service. From an operational point of view, this is currently conducted by Airgreen of Cafasse using AW 139 helicopters equipped with sanitary suite, ski and winch. At present they operate from four bases - Turin/Aeritalia and Cuneo/Levaldigi airports, Alessandria and Borgosesia. The Turin base is also active by night thanks to the use of Night Vision Goggles. In addition to the pilots, the crews consist of doctors, paramedics and members of the Soccorso Alpino specialized for mountain rescue.
