Next to Paris Air Show, ILA is the only international aerospace fair with a significant section devoted to space. With the Space Flight Hall, supported by the European Space Agency ESA, Germany's aerospace research organization DLR and local space industries, ILA 2002 provides an overview of current and planned programmes such as Ariane 5 plus, Galileo and the International Space Station.
Once again more than 50 helicopters are expected at ILA 2002, making the HeliCenter the largest meeting place for rotary-wing industry anywhere in Europe. The air show will be accompanied by over 60 conferences on a wide range of topics. The important XIX International workshop on global security will be hold May 3-6. A new, direct rail link will connect the city center of Berlin with the ILA site. Access to ILA has been also significantly improved by redesigned roads and additional parking lots.

The future Airbus Military A 400M, after the decision not to use TP 400 European engine, the Italian abandoning of the programme and the financing problems in Germany, will be a topic of ILA 2002. (EADS)
