Jet2.com, una delle maggiori compagnie low-cost del Regno Unito, ha annunciato l’apertura, nel mese di maggio 2012, di due nuove rotte stagionali che avvicinano l’Italia alla Gran Bretagna: Pisa-East Midlands, ogni sabato dal 5 maggio fino al 29 settembre 2012, e Roma-Newcastle con due voli settimanali, il giovedì ed il sabato, nel periodo dal 31 maggio al 4 novembre 2012. Per queste tratte saranno utilizzati bireattori Boeing B.737-300 da 148 posti.
Questi servizi, essenzialmente orientati al mercato turistico, si aggiungono alle rotte operate dalla Jet2.com tra Italia e Regno Unito che già collegano Orio al Serio, Roma/Fiumicino, Venezia, Pisa ed Olbia a sei basi operative del vettore britannico (Belfast, Edimburgo, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle ed East Midlands).

Jet2.com, one of the major UK low-cost carrier, announced the opening, from May 2012, of two new seasonal services linking Great Britain to Italy: Pisa-East Midlands, every Saturday, from May 5 to September 29, 2012, and Rome-Newcastle, two days a week, Thursday and Saturday, in the May 31-November 4, 2012 period. These flights are operated with 148-seat Boeing B.737-300 airliners.
The above leisure services are a significant addition to the present Jet2.com UK-Italy network connecting Orio al Serio, Rome/Fiumicino, Venice, Pisa and Olbia (Sardinia) to six operational bases of the British airline (Belfast, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and East Midlands).
