New 747 Freighters in Italy

From January 1996, the Turin-Caselle airport was selected as the north-Italy cargo hub of Alitalia. Many leased Boeing 747Fs have been noted to support the activity of the sole 747F of the Italian flag carrier (I-DEMR "Titano").
On 15 August a leasing agreement expired with US cargo specialist Atlas Air, and747s of Kalitta-American International Airways, made their appearance at the Turin airport. Kalitta was founded in 1973 with main base at Detroit.
