Oggi la Boeing ha consegnato alla KLM Royal Dutch Airlines il primo di dieci B.777-200 ER. Il vettore dei Paesi Bassi utilizzerà gli aerei per rimpiazzare la propria flotta di B.747-300. Gli altri nove B.777 saranno consegnati nell’arco dei prossimi due anni.
I B.777s della KLM saranno i primi esemplari con il nuovo EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) sul cruscotto. Questo sistema offrirà tutte le informazioni utili alla condotta dell’aereo a portata di mano dei piloti in formato digitale. La famiglia dei B.777 è stata sottoposta al primo significativo aggiornamento dell’avionica da quando il tipo è entrato in servizio nel 1995. Il B.777 della KLM è uno dei primi a disporre di nuovi e più leggeri computer. Quattro importanti sistemi di bordo sono stati aggiornati: l’Airplane Information Management System, l’Electrical Load Management System, il Primary Flight Computer e l‘Air Supply and Cabin Pressure Controller.
Il B.777 vola con le più importanti compagnie aeree del mondo come British Airways, Air France, Alitalia, Lauda Air ed El Al. Da quando è stato offerto al mercato nel 1990, ne sono stati ordinati 622 esemplari e più di 450 sono stati consegnati.
La KLM, fondata nel 1919, è stata cliente di lancio di tre modelli Boeing: il B.747-200, il B.747-400 Combi e il B.737-900.

Boeing today delivered to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines the first of 10 B.777-200 ER jetliners. The Netherlands-based carrier will use the new aircraft to replace its retiring B.747-300 fleet. The remaining G.777s will be delivered over the next two years.
The KLM B.777s will be the first items with the new Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) in the flight deck. This system will place all the information pilots need to fly the airplane at their fingertips in easy-to-use digital format. The B.777 family is undergoing its first major avionics upgrade since its introduction in 1995. KLM's new B.777 is among the first to have new, lighter-weight computers. Four key airplane systems have been updated: the Airplane Information Management System, Electrical Load Management System, Primary Flight Computer and the Air Supply and Cabin Pressure Controller.
Major airlines around the world, including British Airways, Air France, Alitalia, Lauda Air and El Al, fly the B.777. To date, 622 have been ordered since it was launched in 1990, and more than 450 have been delivered.
KLM, which began operations in 1919, was a launch customer for three Boeing airplane models: the B.747-200, the B.747-400 Combi and the B.737-900.
