(Aeromedia)
Two shots of the Skytech MIL Mi-26T Halo RA-06041, used by ETI 2000 as a fire-fighter, parked at Aosta Airport on February 20, 2000. Built in 1990 with construction number 34001212431, it began flying under the Soviet Union registration CCCP-06041. In 1992, with the new Russian registration RA-06041, it was painted all white to be operated by KomiInterAvia on behalf of the United Nations. With the code UN-181, it was used in the peacekeeping operation called UNTAC (United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia), which ended in 1993. The giant helicopter was later used in Russia and abroad by Skytech. In February 2008, Skytech went bankrupt and the helicopter remained stored in Gosselies, Belgium. Later it was transported on a barge to the harbour of Bruges, perhaps to return to Russia by ship. The complex operation was not paid for, the aircraft was requisitioned by the authorities and scrapped a few years later. (Aeromedia)
