Goodyear GZ-20A N2A "Europa" (n/c 1419). Questo dirigibile comparve per la prima volta nei cieli di Torino nel maggio 1973 e vi ritornò nel 1975 (aeroporto Torino/Caselle, 21 aprile 1975). Nel 1986, con la chiusura della base operativa di Capena (Roma), "Europa” ritornò negli Stati Uniti. Completamente rinnovato, diventò N10A “Eagle” e fu basato a Carson (Los Angeles). Attalmente opera nuovamente con le marche N2A, nome di flotta “Spirit of Innovation” e base a Pompano Beach in Florida. Il dirigibile floscio Goodyear GZ-20A è propulso da due motori a sei cilindri contrapposti Continental IO-360-D22 da 157 kW (210 hp), alloggiati in gondole che sporgono dalla navicella, con eliche bipala metalliche Hartzell a passo reversibile, in posizione spingente. La navicella ospita un massimo di sei passeggeri, oltre al pilota. L'involucro di tessuto poliestere ha le seguenti dimensioni: lunghezza 58,67 m; diametro massimo 14 m; volume 5.740 m3. Il peso a vuoto dell'intero dirigibile, gondola e motori compresi, è 4.252 kg; peso a pieno carico 5.824 kg. (Aeromedia)
Goodyear GZ-20A N2A "Europa" (c/n 1419) made its debut in the Turin sky in May 1973 and returned a second time in 1975 (Turin/Caselle airport, on April 21, 1975). In 1986, after the shut down of the Capena (Rome) base, "Europa” returned to the USA. Completely refurbished, it became N10A “Eagle” and was based at Carson (Los Angeles). At the moment it operates again with N2A registration marks, fleet name is now “Spirit of Innovation”, and its home-base is Pompano Beach in Florida. The non-rigid Goodyear GZ-20A airship is powered by two 157 kW (210 hp) Continental IO-360-D22 six cylinder, horizontally opposed engines each driving a Hartzell two-blade metal reversible-pitch pusher propellers. The gondola has accomodation for a maximum of six passengers and one pilot. The polyester fabric envelope has the following dimensions: length 58.67 m (192 ft 6 in); max diameter 14 m (45 ft 11 1/2 in); total volume 5740 m3 (202,700 cu ft). Empty weight of the whole airship, including the gondola with powerplants, 4,252 kg (9,375 lb); max design gross weight 5,824 kg (12,840 lb). (Aeromedia)
