SOCATA TBM 700 N700YN (n/c 222 del 2002) in sosta al Richmond International Airport (“Byrd Field” RIC/KRIC), Sandston, Virginia (USA), il 16 dicembre 2003. L’aeroporto di Richmond – la capitale “confederata” – fu inaugurato il 15 ottobre 1927 e dedicato al pilota-esploratore virginiano ammiraglio Richard Evelyn Byrd. Per l’occasione, il primo aereo in arrivo fu lo “Spirit of St.Louis” pilotato dal colonnello Charles Lindbergh. (Aeromedia)

The airport of Richmond – the “Confederate Capital" – was dedicated on October 15, 1927, and named after Virginia explorer-aviator Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd. Colonel Charles Lindbergh, with his famous aircraft “Spirit of St.Louis”, was present as the airport's first official visitor. (Aeromedia)
