Lo stemma ufficiale del No. 37 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force. Il reparto fu fondato il 15 luglio 1943 alla RAAF Station Laverton (Victoria), iniziando ad operare con alcuni Lockheed Lodestar per trasporto merci all’interno dei confini australiani. Nel febbraio 1945 fu l’ultimo “squadron” da trasporto della RAAF a riequipaggiarsi con i Douglas Dakota, quando la base del reparto era ad Essendon, nella periferia nord di Melbourne. Il reparto, sciolto nel 1948, fu riattivato nel 1966 a Richmond (Nuovo Galles del Sud) per operare 12 C.130E Hercules. Nel 1999, lo squadron fu riequipaggiato con i C-130J e, nel periodo 2006-2012, incorporò anche i C-130H provenienti dal No. 36 Squadron. (collezione Aeromedia)
The official badge of N° 37 Squadron Royal Australian Air Force. The unit was established on 15 July 1943, at Laverton RAAF Station (Victoria), flying Lockheed Lodestars for general freight transport within Australia. In February 1945, it was the last RAAF transport squadron to re-equip with Douglas Dakotas, when its base was at Essendon, in the northern outskirts of Melbourne. The unit was disbanded in 1948 and reformed at Richmond air base (New South Wales) in 1966, to operate 12 C-130E Hercules. In 1999, the unit converted to the C-130J and, in the 2006-2012 period, it also operated C-130Hs transferred from No. 36 Squadron. (Aeromedia collection)
