Airbus A 330-322 CS-TRI (n/c 127 del 1996) della HiFly in atterraggio a Malpensa il 28 maggio 2016 con un gruppo di tifosi per la partita finale della Coppa dei Campioni 2015-2014 tra Real Madrid e Atletico Madrid finita 5 a 3. Nel 2018 l’aereo fu venduto alla ASL Airlines Ireland e trasformato cargo. Demolito a Saint Athan (GB) nel 2024.
La HiFly fu fondata nell’ottobre 2005 sulle ceneri dell’operatore charter Air Luxor che era uscito dal mercato. Ricevette l’Airline Operation Certification (AOC) nell’aprile 2006. Da allora HiFly opera voli di linea e charter verso diverse destinazioni mentre una parte significativa dell’attività consiste in contratti di “wet lease” con altri vettori. Ciò può spiegare la colorazione completamente banca degli aerei dell’HiFly. Nel 2013 iniziò a volare la sussidiaria maltese HiFly Malta, offrendo gli stessi servizi della compagnia capofila. In 2018, it was sold to ASL Airlines Ireland and converted to a cargo aircraft. Broken up at Saint Athan (UK) in 2024.
HiFly was set up in October 2005 by using the assets of defunct charter operator Air Luxor. It received the Airline Operation Certification (AOC) in April 2006. From then on, HiFly operates scheduled and charter flights to many destinations and a significant portion of the activity is formed by wet lease contracts for other carriers. This may explain the white livery of the HiFly aircraft. In 2013, Maltese subsidiary HiFly Malta began operations offering the same services of the parent company. (Aeromedia)
