Negli anni ’50, un consorzio di ditte elvetiche produsse su licenza de Havilland più di 200 caccia-bombardieri Venom FB.50 (e relativi motori). Furono utilizzati dal 1954 fino almeno al 1983. A parte la RAF, la Forza Aerea Svizzera fu il maggiore operatore di Venom e le ultime in assoluto a radiarli. De Havilland Ghost 48 Mk I series II centrifugal jet engine, construction number 2293. Produced under license in 1957 by Gebrüder Sulzer AG of Winterthur for the Swiss Air Force Venom FB.50 aircraft. In the 1950s, a consortium of Swiss companies produced more than 200 de Havilland Venom FB.50 fighter-bombers (and their engines) under license. They were used from 1954 until at least 1983. Aside from the RAF, the Swiss Air Force was the largest operator of Venoms and the last ever to retire them. Several examples are still maintained in flying condition by private individuals, institutions, and air forces. (Aeromedia)
