Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 D-FMBB, al suo arrivo all'ILA 2002. In realtà si tratta di un Hispano HA-1112-M1L ex-Ejercito de l'Aire (codice C.4K-135) usato in vari film storici e poi finito brevemente, nel 1975, al Victory Air Museum di Mundelein, nell'Illinois. Acquistato quell'anno dalla tedesca MBB, a Manching l'aereo viene restaurato e rimotorizzato con l'originale DB.605, diventando così un Bf 109G-6. Primo volo con marche D-FMMB il 23 aprile 1982. L'aereo subisce purtroppo un primo drammatico incidente sulla base di Neuburg il 3 giugno 1983, ed un secondo meno grave a Manching il 27 ottobre 1986. Sempre pazientemente ricostruito, è ora in piena attività con la Messerschmitt Stifftung, squadriglia storica gestita dalla EADS tedesca. (Aeromedia)
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 D-FMBB landing at ILA 2002. A former Spanish Air Force Hispano HA-1112-M1L (code C.4K-135), it was used for war movies and later put on display at the Victory Air Museum of Mundelein, Illinois. Bought in 1975 by MBB, the aircraft underven heavy restoration at Manching, where it was also re-fitted with the original DB.605, thus becoming a full wartime Bf 109G-6. It made its first flight as D-FMMB on 23rd April 1982. Unfortunately the aircraft crashed at Neuburg air base, 3rd June 1983, and was damaged in an other occasion, at Manching, 27th October 1986. In both cases, the aircraft was obstinately put again in the air by the company. It's now in full activity with the la Messerschmitt Stifftung, the historic aircraft unit of EADS Germany.
