(Aeromedia)
Aeromere F.8L Falco 3rd Series I-GEOR, piloted by Mrs. Franca Rossetti of the Turin Aero Club. The Falco is a low-wing single-engine two-seat sport aircraft, with wooden structure and retractable landing gear. The production run totalled 76 aircraft from 1955 to 1964. The Falco was initially built by Aviamilano (1st and 2nd Series) and Aeromere (later Laverda), configured as 3rd and 4th Series, with metal control surfaces. The engine types changed from the initial 135 hp Lycoming O-290D to 150 and 160 versions of the Lycoming O-320. In more recent years many items were aerodynamically improved by lowering the canopy and reducing the rudder unit. Dimensions of the basic versions: wing span 8.00 m, length overall 6.50 m and height 2.13 m. Weights and performance of the 4th Series aircraft: empty weight 550 kg (1,512 lb) and maximum take-off weight 820 kg (1,807 lb); maximum speed 175 knots (325 km/h or 201 mph), maximum cruise speed 156 knots (290 km/h or 180 mph) at 75% power. Normal range 870 mile (1,400 km). (Aeromedia)
