Air Freight Transport Data for Year 2000
Record breaking data for air freight past year: 64 million tons of goods were flown worldwide, both by regular and charter flights. Memphis airport (Tennessee), the busiest cargo air terminal in the world, accounted for 2.6 million tons of freight. Hong Kong follows at 2.3 milioni, then Los Angeles 2, Tokyo/Narita 1.9 ed Anchorage (1,8).
First in Europe was Frankfurt with a total 1.7 million tons. Both Lonon/Heathrow and Paris/Roissy totalled 1.4 million tons, the fourth largest European air cargo terminal being Amsterdam at 1.3 million tons.
