Minerva Airlines: the New Italian Regional Airline

From 1st September 1996, Minerva Airlines, a new Italian carrier based in Padua, started scheduled short-range services.
It operates, on behalf of Alitalia, on the Florence-Milan Malpensa line, twice a day, from Monday to Friday. Minerva Airlines is the first Italian Carrier to start operations with the German 30-33 seater turboprop Dornier 328.
Earlier in the year, Minerva Airlines started a weekly charter service from Naples to Turin, in collaboration with the Aosta Valley Casino.
A similar service between Naples and Aosta was tested in April by Air Vallée, using the leased Dornier 328 D-CDXI, painted in the colours of Formosa Airlines.
