Mario Heinen è stato nominato Senior Vice President e Responsabile del programma A 380 con effetto immediato. Heinen ha guidato fino ad ora il settore degli Airbus a corridoio singolo e ha precedentemente diretto i centri di consegna a Tolosa ed Amburgo. In Airbus dal 1999, il cinquantenne Heinen proviene dalla Lufthansa Technik, dove era giunto a ricoprire l’incarico di direttore generale per la manutenzione dei velivoli.
Il nuovo responsabile del programma per aeromobili a corridoio singolo sarà Alain Flourens di 49 anni, attuale direttore dei centri d'eccellenza di Airbus, che d’ora in avanti riporterà direttamente all’Executive Vice President per le Operazioni Karl-Heinz Hartmann (55 anni). Con questa nomina si snellisce la struttura manageriale, eliminando un livello intermedio. Mario Heinen e Alain Flourens riporteranno a Tom Williams, che amplia il suo ruolo di Executive Vice President per i Programmi a tutte le Famiglie di aeromobili Airbus, riportando direttamente a Christian Streiff, CEO Airbus.
Charles Champion, di 51 anni, consegna a Mario Heinen il programma A 380 proprio nel momento in cui si passa dallo sviluppo e certificazione dell’aeromobile alla produzione in serie. Charles Champion è stato designato consigliere speciale di Streiff.
Il gruppo manageriale di Airbus è attualmente al lavoro sulla revisione della produzione industriale del mega-body A 380 e l’organizzazione del lancio dell’A 350 nella nuova configurazione XWB (Xtra Wide Body). Christian Streiff conferma l’annuncio fatto a luglio al Salone di Farnborough, di un rendiconto completo sulla situazione Airbus entro la fine di settembre.

Mario Heinen (50) has been appointed Senior Vice President and Head of the A 380 Programme with immediate effect. Mr Heinen has until now lead the Single Aisle Programme, and previously headed the Airbus Delivery Centres in Toulouse and Hamburg. He joined Airbus in 1999 coming from Lufthansa Technik, where he served as General Manager Aircraft Maintenance.
New Head of the Single Aisle Programme is Alain Flourens (49), currently Executive Vice President and Head of Airbus’ Centres of Excellence (COEs). The Heads of the COEs will, from now on, directly report to the Executive Vice President Operations Karl-Heinz Hartmann (55). This flattens the management structure by removing one reporting level. Mario Heinen and Alain Flourens will report to Tom Williams (54), who is herewith extending his role as Executive Vice President Programmes to all Airbus aircraft families. He reports directly to Airbus CEO, Christian Streiff.
Charles Champion (51) hands over the A 380 programme to Mario Heinen as the A 380 mega-body moves from development and certification to the ramp-up of the series production. He has been appointed special advisor to the CEO Christian Streiff.
The Airbus management team is currently working on a review of the A 380 industrial situation and the preparation for the launch of the A 350 reconfigured as XWB (Xtra Wide Body). Christian Streiff confirms his announcement made in July at the Farnborough Airshow to report about his findings by the end of September.
