Questo mese, la flotta dei quasi 1.200 Pilatus PC-12 in attività ha raggiunto il significativo traguardo di 4.000.000 di ore di volo da quando, nell’ottobre 1994, è stato consegnato il primo esemplare.
Ad oggi, il PC-12 più utilizzato ha accumulato 24.000 ore di attività come aeroambulanza della Air Bravo, operatore specializzato dell’Ontario (Canada). Al ritmo attuale, la flotta di PC-12 totalizza 1.000.000 di ore di volo ogni due anni.
Nei 19 anni in cui il PC-12 è stato in produzione, il monoturboelica d’affari svizzero si è guadagnato una solida reputazione in termini di sicurezza. Una recente analisi dell’agenzia indipendente per la sicurezza del volo Robert E. Breiling Associates, Inc. ha confermato che il tasso di incidenti dei PC-12 che volano negli Stati Uniti ed in Canada (NDR: la maggior parte) è meno della metà di quello dei biturboelica.

This month, the global fleet of nearly 1,200 Pilatus PC-12 reached a major milestone by accumulating 4,000,000 flight hours since the first aircraft was delivered in October, 1994.
To date, the highest time PC-12 has logged over 24,000 hours in operation as an air ambulance with Air Bravo in Ontario, Canada. Today, the PC-12 fleet adds 1,000,000 flight hours every two years.
In the 19 years that the PC-12 has been in production, the Swiss single turboprop business aircraft has also earned a solid reputation as one of the safest business aircraft on the market. A recent analysis by the independent safety firm Robert E. Breiling Associates, Inc. confirmed that the accident rate of the U.S. and Canadian fleet of PC-12s is less than half that of the fleet of twin turboprop aircraft.
