L'Assemblea dei Soci di Piaggio Aero Industries ha approvato il bilancio della gestione 2003. Il fatturato è risultato sostanzialmente invariato rispetto a quello dell'anno precedente ma, espresso in dollari (valuta di riferimento del settore aeronautico), ha registrato un aumento del 18%, passando cioè da oltre 128 a poco più di 152 milioni di dollari. L'utile dell'esercizio 2003 risulta pari a 191.000 Euro.
Il rilancio di Piaggio Aero ha coinciso con il successo nel mondo del P.180. Ne sono stati consegnati 78 esemplari e sono ben 55 gli ordini in portafoglio, per un valore pari a 270 milioni di Euro. Il piano di produzione prevede 18 aerei entro il 2004 e 22 nel 2005.
Dopo l'importante commessa siglata, il 4 maggio scorso, con la società americana di fractional ownership AvantAir, Piaggio Aero ha venduto altri otto P.180. Quattro in Europa, secondo mercato per il P.180, alla società tedesca WinAir, ed i restanti negli Stati Uniti ed in Messico. Complessivamente, nel 2003, sono stati consegnati quindici P.180 e quest'anno ne dovrebbero essere consegnati almeno 22 esempari.
Il 30 giugno scorso, la Piaggio Aero Industries ha consegnato, tramite il rappresentante britannico Sloane Aviation, il primo P.180 certificato nel Regno Unito. La Euro Skylink di Coventry inizierà ad operare l'aeroplano già a luglio. Euro Skylink, che ha scelto l'Avanti per la sua cabina spaziosa e poco rumorosa, utilizzerà l'aereo sia per servizi executive che aeroambulanza. In quest'ultima configurazione, l'Avanti può caricare a bordo agevolmente due barelle tipo Lifeport mentre lo spazio della cabina consente di prestare assistenza completa ai pazienti. Il P.180 ha anche ricevuto di recente il benestare per operare sulla corta pista del London City airport, sulla riva del Tamigi. Il nuovo esemplare della Euro Skylink è il 78° Avanti consegnato: 38 P.180 sono ora operativi in Europa e 40 nelle Americhe.

The 2003 general balance of Piaggio Aero Industries has been approved by the shareholder assembly. The turnover was substantially the same of the previous year, with a 18% increase if considered in USD, from 128 to 152 million USD. Net income for 2003 was 191,000 Euro.
The good financial situation of Piaggio Aero is mainly related to the steady commercial success of the P.180 twin-turboprop aircraft, with a total of 78 units delivered. The order book stands at 55, for a total value of 270 million Euro. A total of 18 P.180 will be manufactured during 2004 and a production run of 22 aircraft has been planned for the next year.
After the important contract signed with the U.S. fractional ownership operator AvanAir (May 4, 2004), Piaggio Aero obtained orders for 8 more P.180s. Four of them will be delivered to WinAir of Germany, and the remaining aircraft to U.S. and Mexican customers. In 2003 a total of 15 P.180 were delivered. Ten more aircraft have been delivered during the first six months of 2004 and 12 more will follow before the end of the year.
On June 30, 2004, Piaggio Aero Industries and UK agent Sloane Aviation have delivered the first UK Public Transport certified P.180 Avanti to Coventry based charter company Euro Skylink. The company will commence operations with the aircraft during the first part of July. Euro Skylink, which selected the Avanti for its spacious 'stand up' cabin and low ambient noise levels, will operate the aircraft in VIP/Executive and Air Ambulance roles. In the latter configuration the Avanti offers easy accessibility for patient loading and with its large cabin area offers an unobstructed working environment for the medical staff to gain full 'head to toe' access for up to two patients on the Lifeport stretcher systems. The P.180 recently gained also the approval to operate at the short-runway London City airport. The new Euro Skylink aircraft is the 78th Avanti to be delivered, with 38 operating in Europe and 40 in the Americas.
