Il Sukhoi Superjet 100 SN 95004 ha finito le prove a bassa temperatura a Yakutsk, Siberia centrale, ed è rientrato al centro sperimentale della Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company all’aeroporto di Zhukovsky/Ramenskoye, vicino a Mosca. Yakutsk è già il sesto aeroporto regionale, in Russia e nei paesi CIS, utilizzato dai SSJ-100 per le varie prove previste dal programma di certificazione.
A Yakutsk si sono svolte una serie di accensioni del velivolo dopo lunghe permanenze all'aperto, fino ad un massimo di 17 ore. La temperatura, scesa fino a 41 gradi sotto zero, non ha influito sulla funzionalità dei sistemi di bordo; la turbinetta ausiliaria (APU) si è avviata regolarmente, così come i motori.
Durante queste prove sono state impiegate attrezzature di rampa del tutto normali. Dopo aver portato i motori in temperatura, l'aereo ha effettuato regolarmente i sette voli previsti per questo ciclo sperimentale, dimostrando l'affidabilità di tutti i sistemi dopo una lunga permanenza al freddo ed all'umido. I tecnici della SCAC hanno anche verificato la riaccensione del velivolo dopo un breve parcheggio a motori spenti.
Per ora queste sperimentazioni hanno consentito di verificare che l'aereo può operare regolarmente anche ad una temperatura di -41° C e senza bisogno di attrezzature speciali. In seguito, dopo l'ottenimento della certificazione del tipo, altre prove analoghe abbasseranno ulteriormente l'attuale limite.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 SN 95004 had completed cold soak trials in Yakutsk, in Central Siberia, and returned to the Zhukovsky/Ramenskoye-based Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company flight test center. Yakutsk is already the sixth regional airport in Russia and CIS, where SSJ-100 has successfully performed its assigned flight test programme.
Yakutsk hosted successful runs of standard procedures designed to warm up the aircraft after long-term parking of up to 17 hours - while the jet was exposed to temperatures that reached -41°С – with a further check of aircraft system performance and a launch of the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) and then the engines.
These procedures involved standard ground servicing equipment. Upon warm-up completion, a total of 7 test flights, assigned to this trial batch, was delivered, demonstrating the smooth operation of all on-board systems after aircraft low temperature soaking. SCAC’s team also assessed the influence of short parking on aircraft availability for the next take-off.
The batch of operational cold soak trials was performed to support aircraft operation on regular flights, demonstrating its readiness for operation under temperatures up to -41°С with no tailored equipment or procedures involved. Later, upon receipt of the type certificate, additional trials will be held to extend the temperature operational limits.
