70th Anniversary of Commercial Air Transport in Italy

On April 1st 1926 the first regular commercial air service in Italy was opened by SISA (Società Italiana Servizi Aerei) linking Turin-Pavia-Venezia-Trieste with Cant.10 ter flying boat.
The Turin terminal was on Po river, near Isabella bridge, where an hangar on poles was built. It was still surviving in the seventies when it was dismounted. In Pavia, South of Milan, the identical building on the same river is now the oldest remnant of the Italian air transport golden age.
