City of Turin Glider Trophy 2005

Organized by the local flying club, the Turin/Aeritalia airfield hosted recently the 34th City of Turin Trophy, a long established Italian glider contest which opened the 2005 race season. The competition, divided in two different sailplane classes, comprised three race sessions set up in the March 26-April 3 period.
Forty pilots took part in the event, coming from all over Italy; twelve of them were members of the official Italian Gliding Team. Vittorio Pinni, of the Parma Soaring club, was the winner in the Standard Class and Riccardo Brigliadori, of the Aero Club Volovelistico Lariano, headed the final score for the Open Class sailplanes.
